Project Timeline Update

Intel announced that it is adjusting the timeline for its two Ohio chip manufacturing plants. In response to this news, New Albany Mayor Sloan Spalding provided the following statement:

Intel has reaffirmed its commitment to Ohio, and the City of New Albany remains encouraged by the company’s continued investment in our region, with $7 billion to $8 billion already invested in the ground. We understand Intel’s strategic decision to slow the construction pace to align with customer demand for its advanced chip technology. This adjustment allows Intel to accelerate construction once customer demand materializes.

We continue to follow Intel’s strategic decisions closely and remain committed to supporting the Ohio One campus in New Albany and the vital role it will play in driving innovation, bringing advanced chip manufacturing back to the United States, job creation, and economic opportunity in our region.
